I’ve never seen it rain in LA, even when I lived here, and woke up to a damp city this morning. Like I told Brownrigg last night, I got no LA game. At least with the wetness, I feel more comfortable here, it’s more like Seattle, Portland, or San Fran, where I feel right at home.

In our tenth year, Textura Design is hard at work with clients, a video project, a book title, speaking gigs, launching a new company and a brand refresh is about to land. Sometimes in all that multitasking, I need to stop to actually blog and take a broader look at what we’re doing.
One detail of the brand refresh is our new logotype
As Zeldman put it, “Very 20s, very 30s, tres fab!” Word and tres fab will drive the rest of the design and what we’re doing here. This year is TDI 2k7.

Where some businesses may opt for a jumbotron or network computers to see their manufacturing schedule at a glance, a couple whiteboards in a meeting room, or sheet after sheet of Project printouts taped to a wall, this company does it with a floor-to-ceiling wall of progress. Periodically, the dark-haired guy next to the plant climbs the ladder and moves arrows around the various levels. When asked about the wall, a salesperson said, “that’s just how we roll.”
